Watermargin Chinese Restaurant: Experience Authentic Flavors and Exceptional Service

Lovely restaurant, lovely food and helpful and friendly staff , nice idea of small portions but that u can order again and again as u want it

A rare overnight in St Austell as a means of visiting the Eden Project early the next day. Arrived tired and late. What does one do in a cold St Austell late on a Sunday.... Well, take it from me, if you are hungry, the Watermargin ain't a bad option. We were quickly seated at a table for two near the window and it kept getting better. Staffed seemingly entirely by youngsters, they should be duly proud of themselves for their politeness and attentiveness. We had a super meal and were well looked after. Special congrats to Ellie - fantastic job. We had the crispy duck for starter and then shared a main - in this case the twice-roasted Char-Siu pork with fried rice. It was all delicious; just the ticket for two hungry travellers. Back for a couple of beers at the White Hart Hotel, we slept like babies (review for the White Hart done separately).

The staff were so lovely and welcoming, my mam struggles to walk so the lift to the restaurant area was ideal. The service, food, atmosphere and staff was amazing. We had a 2 course meal main, sides, desert and drinks and just over £100 for 4 people. The food was piping hot and very tasteful, don't change a thing it was perfect. A hidden gem and we will most definitely be back for more x thank you x

Best Chinese I've had in years. Service was superb, KC was a breath of fresh air, with everything from reading the room and getting it right to ordering Sad shandy's and Rattler flavoured Rattlers. Very well catered for gluten free options 10/10, We have already booked our return visit. Superb 10/10

Went here for the chinese buffet with family, the decor is lovely and cozy. The servers were fantastic, friendly, kind, there were a couple times we got the wrong order, but they fixed that right away. The food is to die for, the flavours? 10/10. The meats? Cooked to perfection! The portion sizes of the buffet? 100/100, demolished 5 plates, a shared starter and I still wish my stomach was bigger. Overall I give the place 5 stars! I recommend eating here.

Very attentive staff who understood gluten intolerance fully and delivered a safe, tasty, filling meal from the all-you-can-eat menu, not the main menu! A great experience for one who has avoided Chinese restaurants for over a decade. Thank you.

Managed to dine here having wanting to for months. Wow….. it certainly lived over and beyond my expectations as it was incredible. The mixed starter platter was amazing and the variety of mains were exceptional. The prawns super plump and juiced, sesame prawn toast the best i’ve ever had generous crispy aromatic duck.This is now my new favourite Restaurant.

The food was so good, great for vegetarians! They were able to substitute tofu into many dishes, and it was delicious. Great environment too - not too loud and not full when we went (though it should be!) - lovely family run place. I highly recommend it - having lived most of my life in Singapore it was great (and unexpected) to find such delicious Chinese food in Cornwall. Also, very reasonably priced!
